Descart

Descart is an alternative art route features six "artworks" strategically placed around the city centre of Rotterdam—but only in the digital realm of Google Maps. By inviting visitors to seek out these non-existent installations, Descart blurs the line between virtual and physical realities. As participants navigate to each location, they're confronted with the absence of tangible art, challenging their perceptions and expectations. This juxtaposition of digital presence and physical absence prompts a deeper reflection: How do our digital and physical worlds intersect? To what extent can virtual experiences shape our perception of real spaces?Descart isn't just an art project; it's a thought experiment that questions the nature of reality in our increasingly digital world, turning Rotterdam's streets into a playground for the imagination.Together with Tom Hoefnagels
